You hereby acknowledge that any reliance upon any materials shall be at your sole risk. VanityVent.com reserves the right, in its sole discretion and without any obligation, to make improvements to, or correct any error or omissions in any portion of the service or the materials.
In no way does the application of Vanity Vents ensure the stoppage of mold, mildew or moss growth. As you would normally do, inspect your crawl space periodically to make sure your Vanity Vents are working most effectively. It is not required, needed or recommended that your Vanity Vents be sealed to your foundation unless you are in continuous extreme weather conditions (over 120 degrees or below -20 degrees). Vanity Vents are not recommended for areas that have radon gas issues.
For most applications, all you need to do is gently but firmly attach your vent to the existing foundation vent using the Vanity Vent Clip. Simply slide the Clip thru the slot in the Vanity Vent and on to the center vertical wall of the existing foundation vent. Do not overthink it. It is a vey simple installation.
Note that you may have to remove some extraneous small clumps of dried concrete (over-splash) in and around the existing vent in the foundation (typically the size of a small pea or less). You can remove this over-splash by tapping the extra concrete lightly using a hammer and screwdriver. Again, do this gently and remember that your Vanity Vents do not have to be perfectly flush with your existing foundation vent.
